Who would have thought that at 88 I would be writing another book. My "life part three" has turned out to be as much fun as any time in my life.
Since my first book came out my light at the end of the tunnel, my dear Ed passed away. I miss him deeply but the new friends I have help so much in making my life better. My cat Ratasky also left to be with Ed and now I have a new cat named Zoey.
Living with the Hazelnuts is a short little book that talks about life in a Senior Living Community and the process Ed and I went through to get here. My hope is that it inspires others to take a positive look at moving sooner rather than later. My secure, safe and fun new home is making my life so much better.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to have my book become a reality. I never really thought it would happen. Fay, my daughter-in-law is persistent and without her I know I would still be talking about it.
I had not realized how long I had writing a book on my mind until I found some "writing newsletters" in my files and saw that they were dated 1996!
Of course, Ed, the love of my life has been so supportive of me working on this and drives me over to Fay's house for interviews and to all the other meetings we have. What ever would I do with out him? He has always been number one in my life but now he has a little competition. A couple months ago we got a new addition to our home. Ratski, our 10 year old cat, has brought a new dimension of fun into our lives. It seems like she has always been a part of our home.
When I am not working on the book or running to doctor appointments I keep busy knitting, visiting with my daughters, Barb and Betti and reading. |
