Imagine 10,000 children raised never hearing that they were loved? Now these children have had families of their own and learned very few skills to help them be a parent. The Children Remember Video which was done by the Orphanage and the MN Historical Society gives insight into how these children were affected as children and as adults and what happend to them and their families. 1 comment

I think that my husband and I are a family of two. We choose not to have children, for many reasons. That doesn't mean we don't like kids, just did not want the responsibility of our own.
I think because I am an only child I find it so interesting to look at families and how they interact with each other. Very complicated social structure.

I never realized how fortunate I am that I have never been physically abused or emotionally abused. I can't even watch violent movies and TV shows. I rarely get angry and can only think of a very few times I have been really angry. The emotion is almost beyond my comprehension. I'm lucky.Tuesday, February 7, 2006, 12:27 PM - Abandoned Children/ Orphanage
I still can't believe that 59% of the 10,000 children who were in the Owatonna MN orphanage had both parents living. I think sometimes that was an unusual time but after talking with people there are still many children today that for whatever reason are not kept by their parents.
I look at these situations and then think of Bob's nephew and his wife and how badly they want a child and are trying to adopt one. Just does not see fair.

There are still days when I can't believe I actually wrote a book. It is something I have dreamed about since I was a young teenager.
It was both easier and harder then I imagined. Working with publishers like Harry and Sharron Stockhausen at Stockhausen Inc. made the actual editing and publishing much easier then I expected. I can't say enough good things about them.
What is harder then I thought was marketing the book. It is a lot of work. Helen and Ed are doing a great job. More later.
